Shoei Hornet DS Helmet

The Shoei Hornet DS is a premium dual sport helmet for riders who don’t stop where the pavement ends and need their helmet to keep up.

Designed to provide the best performance for both street and trail riding, the Hornet can be worn with the peak and visor for dual sport adventures, without the peak and with the visor for an aerodynamic edge on the street, or without the visor and with the peak for the total offroad experience. The Hornet’s visor can also be used while wearing goggles.

The Hornet has ventilation down to an art with two adjustable forehead vents under the peak and a unique peak design with a prominently positioned intake vent on the top that channels a ton of air across the top of the head. The chin vents direct plenty of air through the helmet and across the visor to keep fog under control. Two exhaust vents at the back pull hot air and moisture out.

In the interest of aerodynamics, the peak and chin bar of the Hornet are shorter and narrower than what you’d find on a true dirt helmet and as a result the Hornet is quieter and more stable at street speeds.

The Hornet is made with Shoei’s AIM+ shell and is very light for a Snell-approved dual sport helmet. The AIM+ shell is constructed using three layers of specially developed organic reinforcement materials and two outer layers of fiberglass for an extremely lightweight and strong composite.
