Forcefield Body Armour

Posted on: April 22nd, 2013 by Road Rider MCA

Forcefield Armour is constructed with a unique and patented PVC grid material called Nitrex Evo®, a highly shock-absorbing, soft and flexible material. By dispersing the energy of the impact, the grid material delays the moment of transmission of the impact’s force, diminishing it as it travels. The beehive structure of Nitrex Evo prevents the soft PVC from compressing too much and “bottoming out”. Read more about Forcefield’s technology and safety credentials here.

Forcefield believes armor should be as comfortable, flexible, and breathable as possible while also being supremely protective so athletes can push to the limit without being held back by discomfort or concern about their safety gear. Road Rider carries a variety of Forcefield armor upgrades and back protectors that are built for movement and performance, but first and foremost to protect the rider. You can check out some of the highlights of our Forcefield selection below. If you aren’t sure what to make of the different CE ratings, take a look at our Guide to Back Protectors and Replacement Armor for a breakdown of safety ratings and different types of armor.

NeT Replacement Limb Protectors

Forcefield Net Replacement Armor Upgrades

Forcefield’s NeT Upgrade Armour is the only motorcycle armor we know of that is certified to CE-Level 2 for limb protection (EN 1621-1 Level 2). Still, NeT protectors are still highly breathable, flexible, and comfortable. All Forcefield products have RPT,or Repeat Performance Technology, meaning they can withstand repeated impacts and still protect the wearer as well as they did the first time around (let’s hope it doesn’t come to that!). Take your jacket or pants to the next level of protection by replacing the existing armor with NeT upgrade armor.

Super-Lite Back Insert

Forcefield Super-Lite Back Insert

Because not every jacket can fit a standard thickness back protector, Forcefield’s Super-Lite Back Insert delivers thin, lightweight protection rated to CE-Level 1 for back protection (EN 1621-2 Level 1). Still, the Super-Lite tested at 11.3 kN of transmitted force upon impact, and that’s well below the 18 kN maximum for a Level 1 protector and just above the 9 kN allowable force for Level 2. The Super-Lite is constructed with independent layers of Nitrex Evo that will shift in response to impacts coming from any angle in order to more efficiently absorb and disperse real-world accident impacts that don’t come straight on.

The Super-Lite is available in three different sizes to fit a variety of jackets.

Pro Back Insert

Forcefield’s Pro Back Inserts are CE-approved to Level 2 for back protection (EN 1621-2 Level 2) and officially tested well below allowable levels (transmitting 5.09 kN of force vs. allowable 9 kN). Pro Inserts come in ten different sizes to fit a large variety of different protector pockets. Try out a Pro Back Insert in your own jacket at Road Rider. If you’re shopping for a new one, be sure to select your size with the jacket fitted with the back protector of your choice.

Pro L2K Evo Back Protector

Forcefield Pro L2K Evo Back Protector

The Pro L2K Evo is certified to back protector Level 2 (EN 1621-2 Level 2) and exceeds it in all tests. The L2K is one of Forcefield’s cornerstone moto products, and this updated version provides even better fit and mobility. Multiple layers of Nitrex Evo are stitched together with Kevlar thread, and conform to the riders back while maintaining good ventilation for heat management.
