MotoGP Season Kicks Off: Yamaha vs. Yamaha?
April 7th will mark the beginning of the 2013 MotoGP season and the countdown to the Laguna Seca races. The flag with drop at the Losail Circuit in Qatar this time next month, and it’s going to be a fantastic season. Valentino Rossi is back with the Factory Yamaha Team and his old teammate Jorge Lorenzo. We’ll see if their once-upon-a-time head-to-head rivalry will light a fire under the GOAT (Greatest of All Time), Valentino, who is hoping to see more podium success than he has for the past two years with Ducati.
There are plenty of serious contenders for pole-position among veterans and upcoming stars, so it’s going to get good as the year progresses. As usual, Team Honda Repsol’s Dani Pedrosa will be pushing the front of the pack with new teammate Marc Marquez. Cal Crutchlow saw great improvement last year, and has been testing impressively for Monster Yamaha Tech3 so far this year. Since 2009, Nicky Hayden’s been working hard to bring in some podium finishes for Ducati , so let’s hope it all comes together this year with his new teammate Andrea Dovizioso.
