Description

Keep the dexterity, lose the frigid digits with Rev’It’s Borealis GTX gloves. Seesoft impact absorption, a Gore-Tex membrane, and Primaloft Gold insulation come together in a bang-up package that’s protective, minimally bulky, and, of course, nice and warm for the wintertime.

Primaloft Gold Insulation

Developed initially for the military, Primaloft Gold insulation provides the very best warmth-to-weight ratio available in insulation, so less insulation is needed to achieve the same warmth as gloves that are bulkier and heavier. The palms of the Borealis gloves are uninsulated, making them ideal for use with heated grips. Insulation on the top and around the cuffs of the gloves retains warmth, while the palms maintain tactile response and allow you to fully reap the benefit of your heated grips.

Insulation on the top and around the cuffs of the gloves retains warmth, while the palms maintain tactile response and allow you to fully reap the benefit of your heated grips.

Gore-Tex Waterproofing with Gore Grip

The Borealis GTX gloves feature a guaranteed-to-keep-you-dry Gore-Tex breathable waterproof membrane with Gore Grip technology. Gore Grip is a method of adhering the Gore-Tex membrane to the soft inner lining and the outer material of the glove. It’s a simple idea that makes a huge difference to the comfort and feel inside your winter gloves by preventing three otherwise completely floating layers from shifting around like a bologna sandwich when you’re on the grips and removing your gloves.

One-Hand Closure

This one you’ll have to try out for yourself in person to really get, but it’s worth mentioning because it’s a great new innovation by Rev’It. The Borealis features a very clever and functional wrist fastening system that enables you to quickly, and entirely with one hand, adjust the circumference of the wrist closure and fasten it down with the Velcro tab.

Protection

The knuckles of the Borealis gloves contain Rev’It’s soft and highly impact-absorbing Seesoft material. Polyurethane and Temperfoam protectors are incorporated on the tops of the fingers and sides of the palm. Supple but strong goatskin in used on the palms and fingers, and is double-layered in key areas.

For a very unassuming-looking winter glove, the Borealis provides impressive protection features that are woven into what is ultimately a great-fitting, extremely effective winter glove choice for our California winters.
